CHAPTER 2
I started living off the ground, I planted flowers (which will be part of the future park) and collected gems and other valuables. As soon as I have made enough money I built my first house.
My first room had to be a bathroom, since I didn't like the joggers watching my naked butt anytime I took shower.
Like this lady here. She almost ran into the pond while watching me, which was both dangerous and embarrassing.
I soon realized that living off the ground won't pay all my bills so I started my medical career. I hoped I could meet my future wife there among the staff too. A young doctor maybe. Such person must be good, right? Like Alice.
Speaking of Alice. This little guy is Alice's and Corey's second child: Mateo Clark. I was glad I could do something for their family in return.
As soon as I built a decent home...
...and put all my furniture safely under a roof...
...I threw a party and invited some of the ladies I had met.
I needed to learn more about them to pick a spouse. You can't rush these things or you'll end up with mean or evil children. Insane trait - that I could dealt with as I grew up with Elisa. But mean and evil, those aren't good traits for my legacy. My family is going to help others and mean or evil trait is incompatible with that.
I even cooked dinner for the ladies and did everything to make them comfortable and talkative. The food was greatly appreciated and the ladies giggled a lot. They all knew why I invited them and that I was starting a legacy.
I particularly liked Deanna, the blonde. But then I learnt her third trait was mean. That eliminated her from my list. See? I told you, you can't rush these things. I know it might sound impersonal, but I can't allow for my personal preferences to win here. I must think for the future every step of my way.
Nina was hotheaded. It didn't disqualify her but she's not at the top of my list either, even if she's such a beauty.
Cassandra was too young. I couldn't date her unless I wanted to break several laws. I hope she at least had a good time at my party. I guess she did, since her mother had to pick her up later.
And here's my winner - Summer. What a lovely name for a girl, don't you think? She's active just like me, cheerful and outgoing and beautiful on top of that. I couldn't wish for more.
The party was a success. We ended up dancing in the streets. Even Bella Goth joined us for a while before she took her daughter home.
Between my long working hours, sleeping and tending to my plants I somehow managed to date Summer.
She even was into that whole gardening thing.
[Watch your hand, sir!]
[Watch your hand, sir!]
Summer: What the plum?
[Quido! You goat!]
[Quido! You goat!]
What's left to tell? Things went well with Summer.
[Indeed.]
[Insert any wet sounds here.]
Summer: Must be the grilled cheese I had for dinner.
[You wish.]
[You wish.]
Summer: Hey, baby, how do you like my new haircut. And I'm pregnant by the way.
What do you tell your girlfriend, when she comes home with the same haircut your foster mother sports?
Quido: What have you done, Summer?!
Woman's tears. Man's worst nightmare.
Summer: I thought you'd be happy that we're having a baby. With that legacy thing and stuff...
Quido: What? You're pregnant?
I was so caught offguard by the haircut that I missed that one. I had an explanation to make.

Summer: Happy now?
So what do you tell your girlfriend in such situation?
Quido: I love you, honey. You are the most beautiful girl in the simworld. And of course I'm happy we're having a baby.

And you propose, naturally.
